Charlie Solak is a successful American singer/songwriter.......he is
a keyboard specialist.......he toured around north America, including Canada,
with various bands, almost signed up with Frank Zappa's label.......
Charlie wrote Shady Rosy as a pop/rock song in the mid 1970's. He and his band recorded it, Charlies brother ... produced it. the single was pitched to radio stations in the New York state region....it became a hit........then nothing happened until early 2003........
Kid Wezel is a Canadian internet music promotions and publicity person, as well as a webmaster and Singer/Songwriter. She heard Shady Rosy on an internet site where Charlie had pitched it for a makeover. Kid liked what she heard and wanted to do a jazzy/bluesy version.
She took the song to Tim Johns, a Toronto-based guitar-player/producer/arranger/songwriter..... Tim liked what he heard and agreed with Kid's vision.......they worked on the arrangment, and produced a rough demo ....Kid sent it to Charlie .....he loved it. Charlie told them to go ahead with a polished version. Kid and Tim spent several weeks working on the project. Tim created various guitar, bass and keyboard parts. They tried things out. Finally, they were both happy with the instrumentals, and they recorded the final vocals. May 2003 Tim handed Kid Wezel the mixed and mastered copy of Shady Rosy - Jazz Version..... Kid sent it to Charlie. Charlie was blown away. At Charlies request, Kid created artwork and layout for the CD single and September 21, 2003, Shady Rosy - Jazz Version was released to the world via an Ottawa radio program called Window of Opportunity, with host Laurie-Anne Copple....
